Aerodyne
Controls has employed our many years of experience designing state
of the art Aerospace valves to the Alternate Fuel industry. Aerodyne
has recently developed several new products for use in both vehicular
fuel distribution, and fuel cell cooling. The following are examples
of some of Aerodyne's latest Alternate Fuel Vehicle valves.
Fuel
(GH2) Control Valves:
Solenoid Valve:
The Aerodyne GH2 solenoid valve (part #10348)
is designed for "in tank" installation. This valve is
a piloted shut off valve that uses internal tank pressure to assist
in maintaining a pressure differential across the main poppet. This
pressure differential contributes to the valve's low internal leakage
capability. When the solenoid is energized, the poppet fully shifts,
and hydrogen flows to the outlet port.
Characteristics:
- Fluid:
Gaseous Hydrogen (GH2)
- Type:
Normally Closed

316 CRES
- Voltage:
14VDC @ 1 amp (continuous)

Pressure
Regulator:
The Aerodyne GH2 pressure regulator (part #10257) is
a two stage design consisting of a balanced poppet at the first
stage and an unbalanced poppet at the second stage. Inlet gas is
reduced to approximately 300 psig at the outlet of the first stage.
The first stage is also equipped with a safety relief that is activated
at 375 psig. The second stage reduces pressure to 145 psig at the
outlet. The second stage is also equipped with a relieving mechanism
that is activated at 174 psig.
Characteristics:

Cell Coolant Control Valves:
3-Way Butterfly Control Valve
The
Aerodyne 3-way butterfly valve (model 9937 series), are designed
as a fluid (liquid or air) coolant control valve. These valves divert
flow from a single inlet (port A) to two outlet ports (B & C).
The two outlet port butterfly elements are mounted onto a common
shaft, allowing a single motor to actuate the valve. The outlet
ports are configured to operate inversely (i.e. port B opens as
port C closes). The brushless DC motor allows for fine modulation
(proportional) control of flow between port B and C.
The
valve can be configured as a diverting valve (on/off) function,
or as a mixing valve (modulating function). Rotary potentiometer
feedback allows for precise positional control. The user control
signal sets the position of the valve. The valves control operation
can be modified for each individual applications requirement. Electronic
controls are environmentally sealed.
Materials:
- Aluminum
housing standard for all applications involving water, coolant
mixtures, and air.
- Aluminum
and stainless steel wetted parts.
- Nitrile
or Ethylene Propylene seals.
